Nymphenburg
The porcelain sky
White and blue, like a clear, bright sky, like the colors of the Bavarian coat of arms, and like those, too, of Nymphenburg porcelain.
This porcelain factory takes its name from the palace which has housed it since it was founded in 1761 at the instigation by the sovereign Maximilian III Joseph of Bavaria. Very soon, it was to supply the royal court with porcelain services and porcelain services and decorative elements as is still the case today. via traditional, artisanal methods handed down from generation to generation since the 18th century.
The rococo statuettes conceived by Franz Anton Bustelli have built the reputation of the factory, so much so that illustrious designers have lent themselves to the game of collaboration, including Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood and Gareth Pugh, among others.
One of the Manufacture's flagship pieces is the Clara rhinoceros, whose fame around 1770 inspired a porcelain cookie based on a statuette created by Peter Anton von Verschaffet around 1770, available from LECLAIREUR Sévigné.
