Borek Sipek is a Czech architect and designer. Famous for his colorful glass creations, often in a Baroque style, Sipek is today considered one of the important figures of modern glassmaking. He studied Fine Arts in Hamburg in 1968 and, following a long career, was appointed architect of Prague Castle in 1992 by Vaclav Havel. Borek Sipek has always refused functionalism in design, influenced by "Dutch phantasmagoria, Italian profusion and Bohemian melancholy".
