The dolce vita
Founded in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi, the Rome-based House first specialized in leather work, before creating a sophisticated, Italian and elegant look.
Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla and Alda, the five Fendi girls, took over the management in 1946 and gave a new impetus to the first collections, thanks to fur. Karl Lagerfeld joined the company in 1965 and continues to be its artistic director to this day. In 1977, the company saw the launch of its ready-to-wear line. Since 1994, Silvia Venturini Fendi, the granddaughter, has joined the team as director of the creation of the Men and Accessories lines. She created the now mythical "baguette" bag.
True to the Eternal City and its symbols, of which it is now a part, The Fendi House participated in the restoration of the Trevi Fountain - on which it organized its Autumn/Winter 2016 couture show, celebrating the 90th anniversary of the house.
