Founded in 1925 by Adele and Eduardo Fendi, the Rome-based House first specialized in leatherwork, before creating a sophisticated, Italian and elegant allure.
Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla and Alda, the five Fendi daughters, took over management in 1946 and gave new impetus to the first collections, thanks to fur. In 1977, the company launched its ready-to-wear line. Since 1994, Silvia Venturini Fendi, the granddaughter, has joined the team as Creative Director of the Men's and Accessories lines. She created the now legendary "baguette" bag.
Faithful to the Eternal City and its symbols, of which it is now a part, the House of Fendi participated in the restoration of the Trevi Fountain - on which it held its Fall/Winter 2016 couture show, celebrating the house's 90th anniversary.
