Pierre Balmain created his Maison in 1945 to, in his own words, "always dress women in the right style, at the right time". This motto, which has survived the decades to this day, still perfectly characterizes the House and Olivier Rousteing, its new artistic director since 2011. Balmain offers a glamorous, rock and sophisticated wardrobe. Rousteing creates rich and sensual feminine silhouettes, and invents an urban masculine aesthetic with military overtones. Since joining Balmain, the French designer has surrounded himself with muses known as the Balmain Army, including Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Rihanna, Gigi Hadid and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
