Classic trend
Kazuyuki Kumagai founded Attachment in 1999, after working in Issey Miyake's team between 1990 and 1995.
For Kumagai, casual is a mix of casual outfits and streetwear, mixed with Western influences. The Attachment aesthetic is contemporary, understated, stripped of superficial details. The Japanese designer reinterprets the classics with leather jackets, supima cotton t-shirts, jeans… The laser cut creates clean lines, close to perfection.
Attachment has helped popularize many of the trends that have emerged on the Japanese scene, most notably that of “J-shaped” pants - cut in the shape of a banana.
Since 2007, the label is divided into two sections. Attachment continues his take on classic streetwear, while Kazuyuki Kumagai Attachment looks more towards the trend and the work of higher quality materials.
