Founded in 2010, Australian brand Song For The Mute is the fruit of a long friendship between multi-award-winning artist Melvin Tanaya and Italian-trained stylist Lyna Ty. Together, they imagine clothes like a musician composes a melody, taking the time to think out every detail. Turning their backs on convention, the duo break free from trends to create minimalist, utilitarian pieces with contemporary designs.
Nick Wooster describes their clothes as unique pieces "not just compared to anything I've seen in Australia but, quite frankly, to anything I've seen in the world."
