Sawaya & Moroni
Conceptual furniture
Lines, curves, colors... a vision of objects always linked to architecture and pop culture.
The Sawaya & Moroni adventure began in 1978, when William Sawaya left Lebanon and moved to Italy before launching - with Paolo Moroni, in 1984 - Sawaya & Moroni Contemporary Furniture.
The duo focuses on architecture, interior and product design. Actively supporting the next generation of designers, Sawaya and Moroni also produce and curate art and design exhibitions. The definition of interior spaces is an issue dear to William Sawaya's heart, so much so that his work is regarded as a benchmark and featured in numerous publications.
Sawaya & Moroni has also collaborated with some of the world's leading designers and architects, including Jean Nouvel, and the late Zaha Hadid, with whom they created the Z chair, presented at Milan design week in 2011, whose aesthetic, a veritable visual deception, defies all forms of logic in terms of the shapes and angles of which it is composed.
