COMME DES GARÇONS - Pictorial discussions

This season Comme des Garçons offers us a colorful collectionlight and lively, bordering on the fantastic, highlighted by prints that refer both to Renaissance painting and modern Japanese manga illustrations.

In one collection, Rei Kawakubo takes a five hundred year leap in pictorial history, from the famous phytomorphic portraits - in the shape of plants, fruits - of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, to the drawings of Makoto Takahashi, evoking the universe of a naive Candy, with blond curls and big blue eyes open to the world. Renaissance and kawaii prints colonize the coatsthe dressesthe t-shirts t-shirts in the form of "multidimensional graffiti" as Rei Kawakubo describes them.

Since her beginnings, the Japanese designer has been developing a cerebral fashion where asymmetry and imperfections - which only look like imperfections - are celebrated through the cuts of a wool skirt. Here the jackets have suffered the violence of a chisel, at the level of the shoulders, the heart, a torn effect, wild highlighted by the contrast that operates with ruffles giving to the piece all its poetry. The pleated effects on a shirt dress underline the intelligent sensitivity of a creator making order cohabit with chaos.
