Women are taking the power, that's what this signature spring/summer 2018 "The Congregation" collection tells us. Vera Wang.

We find the dystopia of Margaret Atwood,The Handsmaid's Talewith its particular cups and its slender feminine silhouettes.

Vera Wang starts from this negation of personal identity, and the categorization of women to create a collection where precision becomes a revolution. The Victorian dresses are combined with a futurism all in metal. The cuts are both straight and sensual, emphasizing the shapes of the female body while subtle thanks to the use of a color palette of the most sober: gray, black, white, beige.

The suit takes on an air of lingerie, the shirt day meets night, the office looks like a bedroom, the uniform takes over. The jacket slips from the shoulders, held by an integrated corset, the look slips, it becomes a garter belt.

By adding more urban elements like hoodie sleeves on a transparent dress or turning a wool sweater into a crop topthe American designer definitely anchors her collection in modernity.
