Pierre Louis Mascia article 01

Of Neapolitan origin, Pierre-Louis Mascia first studied illustration at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse. Illustrator for Vogue US, ELLE, he realized visuals for Chanel and Yohji Yamamoto before launching his eponymous brand in 2007, in partnership with the Achille Pinto printing house in Como. A fan of cut-up, the designer moves from one paragraph to another, from one motif to another, creating surprise and endless wonder for ready-to-wear pieces that he imagines as collages. Pierre-Louis Mascia has remained faithful to La Ville Rose, where, in his words, "364 days of sunshine a year", and it is under the Italian sky that he produces his pieces.

Colors are as present in his daily life as they are in his collections, where they telescope with harmony, bringing out geographies of textiles, infinite landscapes, luxurious and overflowing with energy. The silk squares are so ample that they go beyond the framework of a simple accessory and become real clothes. The scarves, both modern and vintage in appearance, show the imprint of time, a stain, a tear, highlighting the personality of the wearer. For Pierre-Louis Mascia "the interest of a person is his relief".
