Both artist and designer, he made his debut alongside fashion designer Issey Miyake and designer Shiro Kuramata. In 2000 he opened his own studio, before working for prestigious clients such as Swarovski, BMW and Hermes.
In 2001, he imagined the Honey-pop paper chair, an iconic creation that made him famous, which would then allow him to collaborate with institutions such as Driade, Moroso and Kartell.
He is known for his meticulous creations as poetic as dreamlike, such as the Water Block benches he creates for the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, or his large-scale works such as the Rainbow Church (Japan 2010 and 2013) or Tornado (Miami 2007).
In 2018, he and Glas Italia imagine the Fountain tables, a series of glass coffee tables like water wells gushing from the ground.
