The Ksubi brand has gained worldwide renown for its skilfully worn streetwear, celebrating creativity that hijacks the customs of haute couture in favor of a youthful, anarchistic, forward-looking energy. The Australian label's beginnings date back to 1999, when Gareth Moody, Dan Single and George Gorrow decided to make their own jeans, frustrated by the lack of suitable denim garments on the market. Through sanding and other artificial aging techniques, the brand's jeans became emblematic of the punk, grunge and slacker-surfer subcultures, depicting a previously unexplored fin-de-siècle spirit. After a memorable debut at Australian Fashion Week in 2001, attended by a legion of rats, the irreverent brand began to capture the attention of cultural figures around the world. Expanding beyond denim, Ksubi now offers a well-stocked range of graphic-print T-shirts, luxurious fleece sweaters, jackets, knitwear and more.
