Propelled by the creative vivacity of Los Angeles, ERL is a collaborative project led by designer Eli Linnetz. The designer learns sewing at the University of Southern California; however, even though he studied scriptwriting, it was by making stage costumes for the opera department that he financed his academic career. Linnetz, who grew up in Venice Beach, created the ERL unisex line to reflect the essence of Los Angeles youth. Like the designer's photographs, the brand has a nostalgic bent, with referents ranging from 1990s Pixar films, to skaters of Venice Beach and the Santa Monica swim team.
The t-shirts, hoodies, shirts, shorts and accessories in the men's collection deploy a range of dapper colors and interesting fabrics, embodying the brand's direct, laid-back creative vision. Vibrating to the rhythm of a sensitive energy, ERL proposes a return to a more candid and simple era.
