Moncler was founded in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, in the French Alps, whose name was shortened to "Moncler". The down jacket, one of the brand's greatest successes, was initially designed for the mountain world, and has made Moncler a brand renowned for the quality of its products. Created to meet the demands of the cold while offering optimum comfort and mobility, these coats left their natural environment in the early 80s to take to the cities, leading the company's designers to adapt to a more urban, youthful style.
Innovative in its use of materials, Moncler was able to renew the brand after its 2003 takeover by Remo Ruffini, thanks to collaborations with renowned designers, including Thom Browne.
Moncler down jackets are now essential, retro and undeniably chic.
