The french modernist sculptor Philippe Hiquily (1925-2013) worked for a decade creating abstract figurative sculptures before devoting himself in 1960 to making furniture using his favorite sculptural material, metal. Today, his works are part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montréal, and are part of the most important private art collections in the world.
