DESIGN DAYS DUBAI 2017 - Pierre Bonnefille

 

For the Design Days Dubai, Leclaireur chose to honor the work of Master of Art Pierre Bonnefille, through a scenography that is entirely dedicated to him.

The "Metamorphosis" furniture, with its geometric shapes directly inspired by those found in nature, and the limited series of "Bronze Paintings" and "Furoshiki Drawings", whose aesthetics communicate with each other in a striking play of contrasting colors and luminosities, are presented around the "Bronze Box".

 

 

 

The "Bronze Box" is a timeless capsule, illuminated by the vibrations of an almost divine light, conducive to reflection and meditation. Outside, the "Bronze Paintings", made from bronze powders, reflect the reflections of a thousand dreamlike landscapes, cut by the light, again. The "Furoshiki Drawings" capture the essence and gesture of a typically Japanese art, that of cloth wrapping, thanks to inimitable textures of bronze and carbon that the French artist applies to paper, reproducing in two dimensions the memory of a thousand-year-old ritual in three dimensions.

 

Leclaireur thus affirms its place in the world of design, after its remarkable participations in PAD Paris, PAD London, as well as the opening last September of its new space in Los Angeles.
