Ziggy Chen created his eponymous house in 2012. His style emanates an elegance nested with spirit, mixing old and modern, oriental and western influences.
Ziggy Chen draws her inspiration from the Shanghai of the 1920s, during which China finally welcomes, in its largest port, Westerners who discover, in the hubbub of a teeming China, its workers and their blue suits, already, but not Mao again. The Chinese designer has thus appropriated a century-old cut, halfway between harem pants and short pants, supple and yet coarse but without being too much, for 21st century comfort.
The young designer imports to Shanghai the best fibers, found around the world, before mixing them, decorating them with wool, raw cotton or linen and weaving them on the spot. Its cuts are fluid but structured, leaving room for ample body movements.
