Piet Hein Eek gives a second life to the pieces of wood he recovers and assembles to create new inlays and furniture.
Graduating from the prestigious Eindhoven Design Academy in 1990, this Dutch designer is one of the world's leading designers.’This Dutch designer is one of the pioneers of upcycling - the recycling of waste materials - which he implements on an artistic level. Three years later, he opened his workshops in disused buildings abandoned by Philips, and began exhibiting at Amsterdam's Stedelijk Museum in 1996. Supported by Ruinart at Art Basel Miami 2013, it features an arch made of recycled wood to hold champagne bottles.
