Philip and Kelvin Laverne, father and son, are two designers whose style oscillates between pure artistic work and functionality of the object. They both founded the Laverne Originals brand in 1938 in New York City, and specialized in the production of bronze works, which they buried in the ground for at least a month to give them that particular patina. Their innovative approach to metal, and the motifs they incorporated into their works - of Chinese, Etruscan or Egyptian inspiration - make their work a timeless work recognized by artists such as Matisse, Picasso and Dali.
