Gilles Caffier

The Master of Illusions
Playing with lines, materials, contrasts, thinking differently about the object and always questioning yourself, this is the message conveyed by Gilles Caffier's creations.
Born in France, the designer, craftsman and publisher first studied fashion and textiles, areas in which he began his career, with Yves Saint Laurent and Paco Rabanne, among others, for clients. He moved to Tokyo at the age of 22 and became artistic director of an international fashion school before opening his own studio. He embarked on interior design and decoration in 1993 and won over renowned buyers such as Brown's, Corso Como, Le Bon Marché, Harrods and Neiman Marcus. He also collaborates with renowned restaurants, including Alain Ducasse's SPOON.
A follower of creative chaos, both subtle and fragile, Gilles Caffier transforms everything he touches, lamps, vases, armchairs, playing with appearances: leather becomes metal, hard becomes soft, minimal becomes exuberant.
