Simone Rocha invites us to live a spring-summer 2019 with Chinese and refined accents, to put against our hearts the petals of a blood red rose. The silhouettes imagined by the Irish designer evoke her origins, and the poetry of an ancient world on the borders of the Far East. We find the fragility of paper in the making of blouses, dresses, pleated skirts and vaporous lines under tulle veils and lace effects, embroideries, hand-stitched paintings, floral motifs and brocade flowers, as if to better recall this chivalrous, romantic and eternal China.

4 Moncler Genius collectionSimone Rocha, whose 4 Moncler Genius collection we discovered, says she drew her inspiration from an image found in a Hong Kong market, portraits of women from the 16th century, when the Tang dynasty ruled the kingdom. So, we can imagine ourselves living a secret springtime, like a forbidden city, wandering in the gardens to smell the mysterious perfume of budding flowers, flowers whose shape served as models for some of these silhouettes.
If the collection is romantic, it is also spiritual, imbued with "purity and light", a literal translation of the Qingmingthe first days of April when China pays tribute to its dead. Hence this play between red and black, the red of love, the black of mourning. Hence also the feathers in a handbag, the pearls on the sandals, the veils that fall on the face, and the many plays of transparency suggesting beauty, supreme testimony of delicacy, as in a dream.
