SAUF - Between Earth and Sky

Filippo Sorcinelli thinks of perfume as music, a heady tune all in melodies, crescendo-decrescendo, top notes, chords, progressions and harmonies. What does he compose? Some unforgettable symphonies of scents.

Already author of UNUM - Unity" in Italian - Filippo Sorcinelli assumes his obsession for the sacred. It is this obsession that led him to work as a tailor of liturgical vestments for Popes Francis and Benedict XVI. It is also what drives him, again and again, to instill spirituality in life, in our lives. This time, the Italian perfumer drew his inspiration from organs, those divine instruments that, with their notes, imbue churches and cathedrals with mystery and push believers to transcendence, as Notre-Dame de Paris does so well, with its great organ built in the 13th century. And then comes the perfume organ, brilliant invention of the no less brilliant writer Joris-Karl Huysmans, in his decadent work "A Rebours".

With SAUF, Filippo Sorcinelli reinterprets the ingredient that laboratories have long used for the manufacture of their fragrances: incense, a mythical material, charged with mystical energies, almost sacred and common to all religions.

With the help of a professional nose, he composes bewitching fragrances that have the power to enlighten hearts and move bodies. Plein Jeu III-V bewitches with its notes of vetiver, cedar wood, amber and jasmine, which are found in Voix Humaine 8, where the notes of moss and vanilla complete a harmonic evolution in three beats, punctuated by Contre Bombarde 32.
